It’s not the greatest job in the world, but someone’s gotta do it. And Stiles makes the most of it, okay? Writing captions for the live broadcasts as well as helping run and write the copy for the online news stories can get rather tedious and boring, but Stiles tries his best to keep himself entertained. Slipping in a movie or comic book reference inside a human interest story just to see if someone comments about it, putting up a funny headline to see if someone catches it and puts it up on reddit, you know harmless things that to the casual viewer and reader will go unnoticed but to those that actually pay attention, they might get a kick out of it. It took Stiles about a week to figure out that he shared his apartment building with someone who very well may be the hottest man he's ever seen. It then took about three weeks to narrow down which of the possible six floors he lives on. After that it takes another week to figure out that the guy works as an EMT because he’s in the elevator wearing his tight uniform and Stiles didn’t think it was possible for the guy to look hotter, but it is totally possible.

Stiles and Derek have an agreement, a gentleman’s agreement, if you will. And it’s actually worked out quite nicely, on multiple occasions, in fact. The agreement being that if the situation should arise where it would be necessary to have a significant other close by, they would step in and pretend to be that significant other.
