It turns out After the whole scroll situation, they have been working with another monkey to fix their relationships. Wukong just wants to move on. he still loves Macaque but he doesn't belive he'll ever get that love back again. Macaque however has had a really good look at their past, and decided to get help from the traffic light trio to help him win Wukongs heart again.
