A Consolata Mary Browne mystery, the second in a series. (To get the most out of it, first read The Feral Strut, which establishes the main characters and background.) After her near-fatal encounter with a grizzly bear, Mary goes to college in Salt Lake City, then tries to return to her job as a forest ranger at the Elf Creek station. But the memories are too disturbing and she has to change jobs. The following year, she works as a wilderness ranger in the Wind River Mountains to the southeast, where a mysterious death draws her into a web of local intrigue.

Kitik is a fighter in the Kurdish peshmerga, clearing snipers and mines from cities in Iraq occupied by Daesh (ISIL), and freeing captives. It's tough, dangerous work, and she's good at it, having survived more than a year on the front lines. Her grasp of house-to-house tactics gives her an advantage, along with her powers of observation, quick wits, (and a good aim). But when she goes against a wounded sniper with a Yazidi woman as hostage, she's forced to play a three-handed game with life-or-death consequences. The title is a Kurdish proverb.

Escaping her trailer-trash background for a summer job as a forest ranger in Wyoming, Mary Browne deals with various hazards, natural and human. But when she moves to Jackson Hole, and starts playing with her band, The Feral Sluts, she steps unwittingly into a life-or-death game that makes the wilderness seem safe. Note: this is the second edition. It was published on WP a couple years ago and then taken down for a rewrite. So if it seems like you've read it. . . read it again. This is the first book in a series. The second, SOWING ON THE MOUNTAIN, is presently being posted on WP. XOXOXO Emma

"If you like Political Satire, and crooked politicans getting caught in the rain If you're not into 'fake news', if you have half a brain If you like tweeting at midnight, and posting comments on the netscape I'm the satirist that you've looked for, read my tales, and escape" Welcome one, welcome all ... Hello my little snowflakes and greetings rednecks. Bizarre TRiUMPhant Tales takes no sides and despises you all equally! Well except for the sensible intelligent people who understand context and shades of gray - hopefully you'll have a giggle while the more extreme types go mental and take it all too seriously as per! Now without further ado, I present an eventual 20 tales that will make taking the piss out of American politics GREAT AGAIN!! Plus three bonus tales from my UK based political flash fiction.
