"Solè, why'd you stay?" "Because, Zaire... you the first thing that ever felt worth staying for." ❀ 🝳 ❀ Harlem held the noise. Solè gave Zaire the quiet. Zaire Knox, Harlem's quiet storm, known for his ties to the streets and a gaze that read people faster than they could lie to him. Respected. Feared. Loved. With scars buried deeper than his tattoos, he never planned to love soft. Until a Harlem vinyl shop left behind by his late grandfather forces him to slow down, to breathe, to find his real purpose in the world beyond the streets. Solè Sinclair, soft but unbreakable, raised by her father after loss. By day, she serves warmth behind the counter of a café. By night, she disappears into her art, trying to paint the parts of herself no one ever sees. When their worlds cross, the city shifts. What starts off tense and unexpected turns tender. Together, they learn love can hold you just as fierce as the streets ever did, and softer, too. But love in Harlem always asks one question: what are you willing to risk when the heart wants more than the streets ever offered? A Harlem story. A hood love. A soft place to land. ❀ 🝳 ❀

It was because of her that I found myself. My passion. My purpose. Even with her baggage she gave me a reason. Her and her child brought life to me. She saw through my scars, then my pain, and she helped me find the little boy who just needed a chance.

𝐐𝐔𝐈𝐍𝐍 Ever since I was younger, being a mom has been a dream of mine. I was determined to make my dreams a reality, with or without a man. When I signed up for foster care, I didn't expect much because of the numerous requirements. However, everything changed when my caseworker dropped off four teenage girls who turned my life upside down in both wonderful and challenging ways. ────── "Hey. Hey. Calm down," It broke my heart to see my girls like this. "I-I-I don't want to leave," Lyric stated through her sobs. I looked at Jazlyn and saw that she was silently crying in the corner. I immediately brought her into my arms. "If you girls think I'm going to let that hoe take you from me without a fight, you're crazy. Everything is going to be okay," I reassured them and myself. I have to do all I can. I can't imagine my life without these girls.

23-year-old Celai (sa-lay) LaCroix should have died in a horrible accident, but instead, she wakes up beside the man who is responsible for her making it to the hospital, Julian Westbrook. God had put him there to be her knight-in-shining-armor, however, the "hero syndrome" doesn't seem to wear off. Surprisingly, it wasn't the first time the two met. Celai was a frequent attender of Disciples of Truth Church, while Julian was the pastor-in-training. It may seem like a coincidence, like the world was just small, but in fact, it was the Lord putting them together. Now, it was up to them to realize, sit back, and watch God unfold His blessings for them. However, Celai has her mind in the future and her hero has his in the past. Neither being in the present is sure to provoke a mountain of issues. Bible verses are in NIV, NLT, and KJV translations 💛

"Noelle." He spoke. That was my first time hearing my name off his lips, and I may have lost my cool for the first time in my life. "Now that I say it, you more of a Noelle than a Nikki" he gave a goofy grin.
