Falling into the Underground where monsters have been banished to for hundreds of years, Y/N finds that the monsters have gone insane from lack of determination; something that monsters need to survive and give them hope. Unfortunately, it seems that Y/N has enough determination to sustain every monster in the Underground for a few years, but not enough to be able to RESET. Armed with only a stick and a cyclops flower, Y/N makes their way through the Underground in hopes of escaping the awful place alive. You live with an adoptive Monster family, and on the way meet Monster friends. Until one day, one of them becomes more than "just friends."

How many times have you seen this world, how many resets does it take for you to give up hope? Does anything even matter after all this, does trying do anything? Will the struggle help at all, can I even believe in anyone anymore? The only thing keeping me going now is my resentment.

Humans and Monsters have been living together on the surface for a while now, but humans still don't seem to accept them in the community. Not all humans accept monsters, and now they are treated as low lives. You are a human who lives with your adoptive monster parents, and you can't understand why no other human can see how pacifistic they really are. After going to your favorite diner, Grillby's, you meet a monster who has the potential to change your life forever. Will the encounter be fate, or was it the mysterious pun master's intention?

(Y/N) was a monster, no mistake about that. Well, actually, a lot of other monsters thought she was a human. After all, she did look human. Yet, she was able to convince.... most of the monsters that she was in fact, one of them. A few of them still would mistake her for one and one monster, in particular, wouldn't stop trying to 'hunt her down so that she could be taken to the capital'. Still, (Y/N) loved "Home", as she belonged there much more than she belonged to the human world. Yet, ever since Frisk, the Fallen Human, showed up, things started to act strange. It felt as her memory had been... "restarted" and she was going through the same thing over and over. Not only that, but Sans started to act strange... and she was determined to figure out why.

"Promise me one thing- just one thing only." Frisk nodded vigorously. "No one can know about this whole reset thing. Not Papyrus, not Asgore, not anyone. It would basically bring this world to the point of falling to pieces at our feet. If we weren't trapped between time and space already, very few of us wouldn't be able to handle that knowledge, and could drive those who couldn't to the edge. So, please. I'm begging you. When you reach the End, when you get us out of here for the umpteenth time, I don't care if you reset or not. Just don't tell anyone about it, and... Please don't go homicidal again, okay?" Frisk smiled meekly, and nodded. "I can do that. And don't worry about the reset." They gave Sans a small hug. "After that whole thing with Chara, there won't be any more." And with the final word, they opened the door to leave; before exiting they paused. "See you later."

You also struggle with two lives, the life of Y/N and the life of Myst. It's hard enough living one life, but when the other has fame and reputation, it's even harder to let go. Alone in a condemned world where monsters and humans fight for power constantly, Y/N survives off of the wood's riches and the small scraps of shelter she can find in ghost towns. Allies and friends have come and gone during the war, either killed or have parted ways. It's not all that bad. She could be dead, after all. One afternoon when shipments from the Human Capital come on a train, she meets a mysterious stranger who saves her life. He's a monster, no doubt, a skeleton to be exact. Y/N is intrigued by the monster and decides to follow him into the next town over where he disappears into an abandoned warehouse. Y/N follows him in only to be pinned to the wall for questioning. After answering all his questions, introductions are made and Y/N learns that the skeleton's name is G. Y/N likes G despite his hateful nature and somehow convinces him to let her come along on a quest he's taking to save his brother from the Monster Capital where they took him for war. After surviving assaults, the government, and Mother Nature herself, Y/N and G start to form a special bond that neither of them wants to break. But when everything goes wrong and neither of them is strong enough to prevent it, Y/N finds that the capitals that she had always hated are far more sinister than she could've ever imagined. But not everyone was happy with the change... though you aren't one of those people! Happy as a (relatively) popular singer, you were oblivious to the growing discontent.
