There are monsters in the Valley of Kings. Some are human. Others are not.
For almost forty years, the little village in the Valley of Kings has thrived under the protection of the White King, a great statue standing silent at the mouth of the valley. Villagers, however, are not permitted to leave the valley unless on the brink of death. There is no reason to leave, no reason to explore -- for there are monsters outside the Valley, and on the third of each month, they roam the hillsides, devouring anyone and anything that dare cross their path. The monsters are held at bay by the White King's mighty sword, but one fateful day in december, the King cracks and crumbles to a heap on the Valley ground. Best friends Aggie and Ben, the future of the Valley, must learn how to survive and fight against something they've never been permitted to see. Armed with only their wits and dwindling supplies, Aggie and Ben find new friends, new enemies, and uncover secrets that would be better off buried six feet under.
