The Towers were constructed to preserve both our species and our history. The earth has been exploited, mined, ravaged and polluted to the point that survival of the human race is threatened. The incredibly tragic and horrendous accident that killed Maddie Taylor's family, leaves her alone. Her pain, that she hides inside, is overwhelming, and outsiders, who try to comfort her, don't help. She runs away from the town full of pity to live with her Uncle Norm. There, she quickly realizes that sometimes actions speak louder than words, and though, her pain is unspoken - it's doesn't go unnoticed. She opens up for the first time, she feels things for once in a long time, and she experiences something, that could, just last a lifetime.
