Yes, most people would jump at this point: Knowing they can't change the past, yet still aching for those alternatives- like a game they can't stop playing; hearing crafty lies such as "I could've changed what happened."
Only the game doesn't speak lies for Thomas. His game is much worse.
"I am in control. I am in control," Thomas whispered, his eyes shut tightly. He breathed in and out, forcing the lies to drift down the river. But the truth remained. "I could've stopped it."
