I was stuck there for exactly 1,096 days. Trust me, I know. I counted every single one. 1,096 days equals three years and a day. I was stuck in that place for three years and a day. Can't forget the day, the day is important too. I came when I was about six, the wound from my parents' death fresh on my poor, young heart. I wasn't accepted right away. In fact, I don't think I was ever really accepted. See, most of the kids there had been there since they were little, around two or three. They had been there four years longer than I had, so everything was already established. Therefore, when I was adopted, I wasn't missed nor did I miss them. I was adopted by a man. He was young, single, and had no other kids. I loved him very, very much. And so did thousands, millions, of other people. My dad was famous, as luck would have it. He was famous, one of the main singers in a band and one half of a YouTube channel with over two million subscribers. I bet now you're wondering who my dad is. I'll tell you. Just not yet. As I said, he wasn't married, but he lived with his best friend, and they both pitched in with taking care of me. I thought it was kind of cute. And while he was technically my dad, I called his best friend my dad too. They didn't mind. They were both gay anyway. Those two were the best parents I could ask for.
