"Who the hell are you?" A boy demanded. He had tousled, chestnut hair. His green eyes were wide with confusion and red from irritation. The boy was also shirtless, paired with red and blue striped boxers. He was, after all, attractive. His abs shown a deep indent in his chest and I forced my eyes not to linger. "Who are you?" I sputtered. He squinted. "I'd like to think you have the common decency to answer me first. You just sprayed me with mace." I frowned, not enjoying his attitude, and crossed my arms over my chest. "Lindsey. Lavender's best friend." I explained as if he should've known. "Oh I'm sorry that wasn't included in the handbook." He spit. I smirked. "Well I'm sleeping here." "So am I." "Dark-haired, green eyed, and standing at a height of five-six, Blaire Richman is still reported missing. If you have any information, please don't hesitate to call it in or be on the lookout for this young, troubled lady." I bit my lip, making a beeline for the door of the candy shop. I had to make it to the train station. ~ ©2016 Sydney Wray In an exhilarating, and romantic sequel of The Run; this not only becomes a coming of age novel, but a story following another foster girl's struggling life in New York City, and maybe...a mysterious boy? ***(You do not need to read the first volume of The Run to be able to read Volume 2. "Go ahead," I said, backing up against the pink wall of the shop. "Do something other than glare at me." I waited. One, two, three seconds... and nothing. I raised my chin at him. "You're boring me, mute boy." He stepped closer. Leaned toward me as his gaze burned into mine. Then... ❀ ❀ ❀ After three months in juvenile detention, it's time for Romy Pereira to help out with her family's flower shop. And it's not all bad... until they hire Jack Michel to work beside her. He doesn't speak, communicating with glares and scowls instead of words, and seems to be more interested in literal rocks than other human beings. And with an ex-convict mother, her friends drifting away, and the flower shop falling apart, the last thing Romy wants to deal with is Jack's attitude. She'll forever praise the day he screws up big time and gets himself fired, but until that day comes, it's mostly one cold-hearted girl, her silent (but still infuriating) coworker, and a whole lot flowers.
