For 17 year old Benna Denman, it's hard enough being the president's daughter. And when she develops a telepathic Link, life gets even worse. Her father isn't impressed with this new evolutionary ability. It means he could lose control over people's communications - in a world without cell phones, publicly accessible internet, or a postal service, it's difficult for dissent to spread and uprising to organize. That's just the way he likes it. So when the government starts offering cash in exchange for these telepaths, and Benna is under suspicion by both her boyfriend and her powerful father, she knows she's in trouble. Upon discovering that the cold Dr. Frenchwood plans to use her as a lab rat to develop a cure for telepathy, Benna and her Link, a boy named Corin, decide to try to run... Kallai has a tendency to make things explode. Not on purpose, but every spell she's ever tried has gone up in a puff of smoke. Literally. And being the only mage in school who can't actually perform a spell has left her at the mercy of those looking for an easy target. It takes her meeting Shuu, a boy who claims to have been sent away from a war, to get her to really open her eyes to the world and her situation. But Shuu isn't safe to be around, and the longer Kallai is with him, the closer to the fire she gets. NaNoWriMo 2013

As the youngest sister of the current Sultan, Eliska has been raised in the harem. But she's been trained not to be a bride, though she has had instruction in the womanly arts, but rather as a spy. To protect her brother and the rest of the family, she must pretend to be someone else entirely in order to keep their lands safe. Tariq is a fixer, with a well deserved reputation in the criminal underworld for being the go-to person for any kind of problem that needs solving and the willingness to do anything to solve his clients problems. Hired to find a boy taken by slavers, he's reminded strongly of his own past and dedicates himself to the search. As his investigation continues, he keeps running into the same pretty girl who attacked him, apologized, and then paid him off all in the same night. Neither can deny that the other is interesting and as their mutual goals begin to converge, a kind of alliance springs up between them. But Tariq is a criminal and Eliska a princess, and whatever else might be growing between them, it might not be enough to overcome their barriers and secrets. If they even manage to keep themselves alive among dark magic, plots, and corruption. NaNoWriMo project for 2015.

When Fiona ends up at St. Lawrence Academy according to her mom's wishes, she isn't expecting what she finds. She can handle the school's private plane, that the academy is located on its own private island and she can even take the fact that she's the only transfer student they've had in years. What she can't handle is the fact she's the only human in school. Because St. Lawrence Academy isn't just for learning math, English, and art. No, it's a school for the supernatural to learn how to fit in among humans. Forced to hide what she is and pretend to be a dryad, something she'd never even heard of before, Fiona has to do her best to fit in or lose the only place she has to go.
