Runningwish and her littermate, Voleeye, have discovered their gifts from Starclan. Unfortunately, their sister Goldensky has left the clan with her lover, the treacherous Tigertooth, after a failed attempt to take Greystar's life. Shadowclan and Thunderclan bristle at the borders as a new prophecy is given. How will Sunkit endure growing up in the clan as the child of traitors?

This is a rough time for ShadowClan. A terrible sickness has just passed, and many are left dead, the Clan is weak. Yet their leader, Owlstar, is dertermined to show that his Clan is the fiercest in the forest. His plan; extra battle training, and teaching kits and apprentices to show no mercy and to be ruthless and cold hearted. And if one dissagrees, there are dire consequences. Alderpaw is the newest apprentice in ShadowClan. He knows that his leader is telling them to be cold hearted, but Alderpaw knows that he can't meet that criteria. He is beaten and taunted, and is treated like a slave. When he asks for help, he doesn't get any. Even his sister, Birchpaw, treats him this way, and she wishes that he wasn't her brother. But nightmares plague the young cat's dreams, nightmares of ShadowClan being destroyed by a wave of blood. But nobody will listen, except for one... Ivypaw is a WindClan apprentice, and she is thriving in training. She knows all the hunting techniques, and everyone is so encouraging. Nobody teases her for her one blind eye, and she is being taught well. Her heart and spirit belong to WindClan. But why does she feel pity for a ShadowClan apprentice named Alderpaw? And why does she believe that his nightmares are signs from StarClan? But maybe there is a way to help...
