Mikey has the weirdest crush on Pete Wentz, and mistakenly believes Pete and Patrick are dating (they aren't). Mikey also happens to need a date for Gerard's birthday party, so it only makes sense to ask Pete to be his fake boyfriend. What do you mean that makes no sense? Michael Way regretted telling his older brother he'd go with him to the party that night. After about an hour of loud music and too many people in one room, he went on his way to find somewhere else to sit and made a start on that reading he was meant to be doing. Pete Wentz was surprisingly unhappy with having such a huge party in his house, in fact, he didn't even remember agreeing to it. After about two hours of people trying to force him to go and be sociable, he went up to his room to clear his mind. Neither of them expected to see another person there, but neither of them really minded. As the party downstairs got louder, they both continued getting to know each other and wondering where the other had been their whole life.

Ever since preschool, Pete and Mikey were worst enemies. It started off as kicking down block towers and scribbling over drawings to full on rivalry - throwing punches and yelling insults. Gerard was eager to change this, and made friends with Pete's friendship group. As the two groups hung out every lunch, Pete and Mikey reckoned they were living in hell. But as a school project involved the two getting more time together, their opinions may change. Brendon was never the most thoughtful person. He was not particularly liked amongst the student body, he was known for ruining relationships and spreading nasty secrets. But he never really felt empathetic to these hurt people, not until he had managed to ruin his own relationship. As Brendon realised his life isn't quite complete without Ryan, he knew he needed to get him back. And try to be less self-centred.
