*Featured Story* Monica 'Manic' Knightley is someone every girl turns to when confused. Her column 'Manic Makeovers' in a leading fashion magazine is a bible for any female who wears clothes. From getting the perfect eyebrows to wearing the right shoes to your goldfish's funeral, she'll help you through it all. So when Monica is invited to a ball dance in an elite university upstate, she's expecting some praiseworthy attires. What she isn't expecting, however, is Edward Moseby. With his perfectly tailored blue tux, orange tie paired with green Crocs he thinks he's got it all. Not according to Monica though, the sight of his horrendous ensemble nearly makes her half bald with anxiety. When Edward accidentally asks her for a dance, like any other sensible girl, she corners him and rips his tie off. Now with Edward seeing Monica as a sexually deprived woman and Monica taking him as one of the worst dressed in the history of worst dressed, they're both on a mission to fix each other for the better. A tragic tale of gaudy Crocs, sky-high Jimmy Choos, and everything in between. [Humor #13]

Delaney Escott lives in a world where popularity reigns supreme. If you want to be noticed, social status is everything. The government is run by the Superiors: a very exclusive group of individuals who are virtually flawless. They are smarter than us and stronger than us, and to join their ranks is the highest honor. The Superiors pay an annual visit to the top schools in the nation and evaluate the students, choosing one boy and one girl - the most Popular in the school - to go the Capitol and train for Superiority. Delaney thinks that she's the only one indifferent to (and perhaps even suspicious of) the Superiors, until Caleb Payne, the most popular boy in school, approaches her with a request. He has a task for her, one that he believes she is uniquely capable of completing. And as she helps him, Delaney discovers that the government is hiding many secrets - and that the truth of the Superiors is far from what people believe it to be. If you're judging this book by its cover and title, you're already proving the point this story wants to make. Try to move past this satirical obstacle in front of you. This is a story about bullying, and like the hundreds of other books on the topic, it will show you the harsh reality of being discriminated, belittled, ridiculed for something you cannot control- how you look, who you love, or what you believe in. But unlike these books, this story's sole purpose is not to tear your heart out of your chest as you mourn over your loss of faith in humanity. Instead, this book will make you laugh and love alongside these characters. Just like in life, there will be moments of dread and surrender, but there will also be moments of happiness, laughter, and love. - Naomi Lorraine, better known as Nerdy Naomi with her thick-rimmed glasses and straight-A report card, is the most unpopular girl in her school. Even with the help of her sarcastic comebacks, that doesn't stop her from getting bullied by everyone in Dartwell High. Every day her childhood bully, Raymond Meyers, knocks her off her feet, literally. However, she can't do anything but survive the laughs, insults, and bruises high school gives her. There are three senior transfer students, dubbed the Three Musketeers: Bennett Frazier, Jordan Wallace, and Declan Lynch. All in one day, Naomi catches their attention one by one. With her snarky attitude, but innocent look, they can't help but want her. But not the way you're thinking. Oh no, not like that. Instead, it's probably the whole opposite. It's quite simple really. She'll be their good girl. And they'll be her bad boys. ~ [This story is a first draft written by a 13 to 15-year-old girl so it has its fair share of grammar mistakes and plot holes.] Wattys 2015 Talk of the Town Award Second Place Story of 2015 Best Humor and Overall Points of The Fiction Awards 2016 Third in the Writers Awards 2016 Highest Ranks: #1 Humor, #1 Teen Fiction

I, Brittany Malene, have been dubbed the oh-so honorable title of the school's "Slut." With great power, comes great responsibility and I just have to say that a lot of legwork went into this achievement. Pun intended. Okay, so it's not exactly ideal, but I'm the queen of making the best out of a sticky situation. Again, pun intended. Anyway, I think that what a girl chooses to do with her body is entirely her choice. While I've definitely made some pretty questionable choices over the years, there is a bigger picture at hand. From trying to save a damaged bad boy who wasn't worth the side effects, to saving other girls from making the same mistake. Needless to say, the walls I've meticulously built around my heart are strong enough to make conservatives weak in the knees. So, my brother's best friend, Sam "Nice Guy" Jacobs, is the least of my worries. Or so I thought.
