Tess thought she was just like every other teenage girl. But her life couldn't be further from ordinary. Tess lives in a world far from Earth-a planet humanity fled to centuries ago after destroying their home. This new world offers refuge but is ruled by giants, beings towering in size yet surprisingly similar to humans. They have families, jobs, schools, and communities, but not all of them welcome their human neighbors. To some, humans are nothing more than pests invading their world. When Tess's mother falls in love with Brian Taylor-a kindhearted giant-Tess finds herself leaving the familiar safety of the human quarters to live among giants for the first time. It's a terrifying new world for her, one of enormous proportions, where everything feels strange, overwhelming... and dangerous. If adjusting to life with Brian wasn't enough, Tess now has to share her home with his son, Austin-a giant her age who is infuriatingly handsome and an even bigger jerk. Between navigating a new school, making friends, and avoiding trouble with humans and giants alike, Tess's life becomes anything but simple. But everything changes when Tess crosses paths with Darrick. Unlike the other giants, Darrick seems to linger in the shadows, keeping to himself with a quiet intensity that draws Tess in. He's mysterious, secretive, and carries a weight that he refuses to explain. Despite his aloof nature-or perhaps because of it-Tess finds herself captivated by him. Darrick seems to understand her struggles in a way no one else does, but as she's drawn deeper into his world, she begins to wonder what secrets he's hiding... and if her curiosity will lead her into danger. A new home. A new school. New friends... and a forbidden connection with a giant whose secrets might change everything. In a world divided by size, culture, and prejudice, Tess must decide if love is worth risking everything-or if some walls are too high to climb.

Marcus is completely normal. He's got the same interests as a normal thirteen year old, he dresses like a normal thirteen year old and he goes to school like a normal thirteen year old. He's even best friends with Thomas Ryan, one of the most popular kids in his grade. You'd think to yourself- Well that's great, isn't it? He's just another annoying eighth grader you'd pass at the corner store buying slurpees. That's exactly the problem Marcus faces. Well, for starters, Marcus doesn't even like slurpees, and then you get to the point that he doesn't even know how to get to a corner store. And ONLY then do you find out that Marcus is not exactly COMPLETELY normal. Marcus suffered from Shrignakemia, a cancerous infection that almost killed him. He got the cure for the disease. That's about the point in time where he shrunk.

'The aim of the serum I was injected with was to concentrate the cancer molecules and ultimately shrink them down to about a twentieth of their original size, which would kill them off... and what the doctors forgot to mention here, was that if the chemical combination of my blood cells was as rare as my own, there would be a somewhat awkward reaction. Sally Ryan's serum made not just the cancer but the rest of my bones and muscles shrink down to about a twentieth of their original size. So yes, I'm pretty small for my age. Small enough to fit in someone's hand. Small enough to ride on their shoulders. Small enough to call myself five and a half inches tall.' Amy Leebeck is your average 16 year old girl, apart from one tiny detail. She has grown up five inches tall and faces the tough challenges of living at her size. When she was abducted by a boy fighting a lost cause, Amy thought that her pitiful existence was over. But as she gets to know her mysterious kidnapper, her dull and dreary life begins to unfold...
