In a world where humanity faces the threat of the Abyssal fleet which has taken over the seas, shedding humanity in its wake and killing thousands, special human girls who don weaponized outfits and possess the spirit of historical naval vessels known as Fleet Girls are the only ones capable of countering them. The Fleet Girls live together at a naval base, where they spend their everyday lives as they train for battle. Samidare, a Shiratsuyu class Destroyer, and cursed with unbelievable "clumsiness", was assigned at the Southern Naval District where she meet the other girls. What she does not know was, the Southern Naval District was the least inactive District in terms of combat against Abyssals. With just only 1 Admiral to barely keep the District running, the said Admiral was often judged as a 'delinquent' and 'irresponsible' due to his heavy drinking. The tale of the Blue haired fleet girl started in a single "clumsy" step.

It's been 6 years since the war of the abyss began japan, britain, germany, America, and other nations fight desperately along with their ship girls in order to preserve humanity however New allies will appear and when they do hope appears on the horizon.
