I tugged at the bottom of the sequined dress, trying to cover all of the bruises. No make-up would cover the black and blue patches of skin no matter how hard I tried. They seemed to appear every time I looked down. It was, naturally, my turn. I positioned myself in front of the bright white backdrop. I posed just as I was instructed to do. I was ready to get out of there. “Ryan, honestly, what do you do to yourself over the weekend?” Dionne came over to inspect my legs. “It’s nothing.” I muttered. Leave it up to Dionne to do the exact opposite than what she needs to do. “Honey, it’s not nothing. You come to work with bruises all over your body,” She whispered,”Did you get into another fight?” “No! God, can we please get to the shoot?” I lied. It wasn't my fault.
