花吐き病 [hanahaki disease] - (n.) an illness born from one-sided love, where the patient coughs/throws up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. The infection can be cured if the feelings fade or get reciprocated. In serious cases, surgery can be administered to remove the flower roots from the lungs. Side effects of the surgery include permanent loss of romantic feelings toward the specific person and chronic bronchitis if the surgery is administered at a late stage. If left untreated, the illness will cause severe lung damage, and eventually, death.

Hanahaki Disease: A disease where someone will experience their first love and cough up flower petals becasue of it. The patient will not be cured unless their love is returned or are treated by the hospital. If the hospital treats them, they will not be able to feel love for that person ever again. Chuuya finds out something about himself and it scares the shit out of him. Dazai x Chuuya Soukoku
