Vassalage: Chronicle of Rasputin
Crowcoboi
"The spectrum of colour... is a degree of darkness... allied to shadow." J.W. Goethe, 1749-1832
Vassalage: chronicle of rasputin follows the story of a russian wood elf, buried amidst the tumult of fascist militaries and morally reprehensible gangs. Forced into the life of a human trafficker, this smuggler with a nagging conscience loses his memory through a series of traumatic experiences with the eldritch.
Simultaneously, it is the story of the same russian wood elf, employing their services to criminals of every pedigree. All in the hope that violent conflict will reveal the memories of his equally violent past.
The story stretches itself along two parts. The forgotten memories of Ivanovich Rasputin, converging hopelessly towards the moment he loses his memories of all the evil he transgressed. And the present encounters of his adopted identity of James Hethway. Whose story leads up to the regaining of those memories.
Both personalities - frames of time within the same psyche - encounter hardship and tribulation. The true question remains; Should Rasputin forget, and should James remember?
A story of unlikely friendships, high octave violence, incomprehensible monstrosities, and the discovery of one's self.
