After Chloe Lukasiak comes back, abby leaves however, she allows Cheryl to run the team with strict instructions. Those instructions are to split the team into two and have them compete at the same competitions each week for thirteen weeks and at the end. They have to each one by one battle for a spot on the ALDC elite competition team.

The two teams join together again for the eighth season but things have changed with now only having seven dancers due to the departing of Chloe and Brynn but more drama arises when Abby chooses to cut Chloe, Elliana, and Lilliana off the team leaving there to be only 4 dancers, Kalani, Nia, Maesi and Camryn to be dancing with the Abby Lee Dance Company.
