Nineteen century England was a large place for anyone. The Pines Twins were sent to England after their parent died under mysterious circumstances. They were sent to be protected, but the person never showed to protect them. They had no one in England now and were homeless for a little while until a nice elder couple took them in. They helped run the small shop they owned and when they passed they took it over. They learned about clockwork and other mechanical things. They learned how to cook, clean, sew, and lie. They went to school but passed early. They've been in England for ten years with no troubles. One day that all changed when they were kidnapped. They were after a magical device that they needed to rule the mortal world and demon world. Now the Twins lives have changed when they meet "The Defenders of Both Worlds" or more known as Hunters. They protect and keep the balance of the mortal and demon world. They're lives change forever and changes come from them.

The Red String of Fate first appears in ancient Chinese legend. According to the story, the Chinese gods would tie an invisible string around the ankles of two people that fate would one day bring together. The invisible string would be their way of finding one another. Japanese culture adapted this myth, with their tradition believing that the string was tied around the pinky fingers of two lovers who were destined to meet. The two people connected by the red thread are destined lovers, regardless of place, time, or circumstances. This magical cord may stretch or tangle, but never break. This myth is similar to the Western concept of soulmate or a destined flame.
