In the year 2512, the humans have split into two groups: the vanillas, normal, unaltered humans, and the deviants, humans with supernatural abilities. The deviants are generally looked down upon as abominations of society and are captured and brought back to so-called clinics by the anti-devs. These clinics, probably best compared with more humane concentration camps, are impossible to escape from. Well, almost. One deviant, Jaceon Rex, managed to get out in 2499. Giving everyone who witnessed the impossible feat almost infinite hope that there is a way. Any attempts to escape, though, are all in vein. It is, was, and always will be a suicide mission. Wolfgang Steiner, one of the deviants in one of the largest clinics in Europe, has always watched them all fail miserably. He knew escaping was impossible. And he thought he'd never try it. But that all changed the day he met Axyra Soere, a fourteen-year-old girl with bat-like deviations. She was both insane and completely set on escaping.
