Then new student Dean Winchester arrives at Flour Bluff High School, sharing many of Castiel's classes. Castiel has seen his type before -- handsome, athletic, arrogant, and sure to be the most popular kid in school. But Castiel eventually learns that he and Dean have more in common than he thought, and they form an unlikely friendship. The CIA secretly experimented with LSD on patients there in the 1950s and early 1960s. This story is set in 1965 and is told through the eyes of a fraternity "social chairman" who is captivated by the music and the musicians and finds gigs for them climaxing with a Kentucky Derby-eve concert at the state mental hospital.
