Only months prior, he went back in time and brought back Once-ler with him to try and remind Greed who he used to be. Instead, Greed quickly developed a relationship with Oncie, but still continued with his business, no matter how many times Oncie had begged him to stop. So, the Lorax decided to teach him a lesson.
