**Featured on DARK FANTASY and ADULT FICTION reading lists** WARNING: EATING OR DRINKING WHILE READING THIS STORY IS HIGHLY INADVISABLE. Once Upon A Time, Good Omens, Monty Python, and Arrested Development had a back-alley three-way and birthed a fairytale. Gerald wasn't supposed to be stuck living seven centuries in the future. He definitely wasn't supposed to be "mentoring" The Dark Lord's progeny in the hopes that she would decide to save the world rather than destroy it. In fact, he wasn't even supposed to be named Gerald (the name of every other male in his family for three hundred years), because everyone assumed a weak-chinned, balding, forgettable man, who was just a magician, could never be who Geraldo The Foreshadower prophesied. But that's what assuming gets you, and here he was saddled with a fate he never asked for, in a time he didn't know, surrounded by people he didn't want to like, and he was out of Firewine AGAIN! The Dark Heir is a darkly satirical tale of assumptions, anti-heroes, and apocalypses, where the road to hell is actually a themed water-park slide covered in slightly less urine than a real one. It drops literary and film references faster than an NYC socialite drops names, and promises endless laughs - including, but not limited to, sad chuckles, guffaws, uncontrollable giggles at inappropriate moments, brays, barks, cackles, snorts, cachinnations, and the occasional howl (though that may be the Welsh Werewolves showing up unannounced). Consider yourself warned... Reviews: "Completely and adorably bonkers," says @floranocturna "Hilarious in every way. Even when I cringed, I laughed," says @LadySapphire2018 Winner of The Trident Awards

I had been content to pretend sleep as Da carried me, but when we got back to the cottage, I was eager to show Mam the shiny pebble a boy had given me after one of the dances. I ran back and forth from the door to the window as I waited. Da laughed at me. "I suppose you could have just carried me home." "There she is!" I squealed suddenly, making him jump. "Wait, Love, she'll listen to you by the fire," he said, but I was already out the door. "Mam!" "Selene run!" Mam screamed as a great dark shadow leapt from the cover of a shadow and lunged for me. Black eyes were all I saw; black as the bottom of a well without whites or irises. An instant later my life was shattered like glass and I was never able to put it back together, but I didn't know that something was keeping the pieces apart on purpose.

The notorious Fox and his (dashing) band of thieves and scoundrels, known for their wit, speed, and ability to disappear without a trace, have worked hard in the last few years to carve out a name and a refuge for themselves in the war-torn chaos of the Midlands. But with thinning resources and ruthless Captain of the Guard Uldien's personal vendetta, not only against Fox but seemingly all of the Midlands, the last thing Fox needs is a distraction. Gaelian, the opposite of a thief and a scoundrel (and just about everything else in the Midlands for that matter), is a distraction. A determined distraction. One who holds both the key to Fox's past and the burden of a dark secret that affects herself, Fox, and the fate of the entire Two Kingdoms. But will she be able to convince Fox to care? *ehem* (Meaning about the secret...of course. *winkwink*) Danger, adventure, clever banter, heroics, true love, a curse, and a happily ever after. "How did you find this place?" Zia asked the King, speaking for the first time since entering the tent. "I've been searching for the location of your Headquarters for months- years, really." Donathan admitted. "We only found it when we got wind that two new recruits would be coming here today. My men tailed them here this morning and sent for me as soon as they were certain of the location." The tent was silent. Finally Arch said thoughtfully, "You say you come to negotiate?" The King nodded. "Very well, then," Arch said, "I will oblige. If I do answer your plea, can I insure that this camp and all those who live in it will remain protected and untouched?" Donathan nodded thoughtfully. "Yes, I believe you can." "And," he went on, "can I trust that this place will remain secret to the outside world?" "My men are sworn into secrecy," the King assured him. Arch fell silent once again. This quiet seemed to last longer than all the others. Zia wanted to know what he would say, and His Highness and Jay appeared to be in the same boat. "Very well, then," Arch said, stretching forth his hand for the King to shake. "When shall we sort out the details?" Cover made by the incredibly talented @italychick

At the close of the 'Destruction' - Mother (Terra) had finally had enough. No more would the humans be allowed to slaughter one another pointlessly. No more would they take the rest of her, and her other children, down with them in the process. Thus, she called forth Terra Natus (Earth Arisen): "They came from the trees, they came from the water, from the rocks, from the plants. Mother Terra calling her other children out from centuries of standing idle, martyrs of a dying world, to fight back. Some saw them it is said, saw them walk right up out of the water, saw a boulder unfold itself and stand, just as you or I might. One second a mighty tree, the next? A being, arms stretched up to the glorious sun. (And) No sooner did we see them, than they were shooting us down. We were finally paying for our sins, and for the sins of our parents, and their parents before them...It was a heavy debt to pay." Generations later, the Terra Brothers, or Protectors, haven't even seen a human near their borders in so long that rumors of their extinction has spread. Rumors which are about to be put to rest in a big way, when Isa (the human) and Salix (the Protector) find their paths inescapably interwoven in the pursuit of eliminating a threat to Mother - the likes of which hasn't been known since the age of human dominance. But what is it? And what could have been so terrible as to drive Isa within the Protector's borders in the first place, knowing she would most likely be killed? Furthermore, how will Salix and Isa's relationship develop as they come to find, much to their surprise, that the other is not exactly like what they had been lead to believe? Come inside and find out! * Copyright © 2016 by Nathalia. All rights reserved. * Original and epic cover art by @Neenerst - I mean seriously, look how she captured all the elements of the story.
