[FEATURED WATTPAD PICK] Eighteen-year-old Shannon Anderson should be studying when she discovers a stash of books that physically open doors to the worlds within their pages. Final exams are all that stand between her and her dream of ditching rural Iowa for freshman year as a theater production student at New York University. But it's really damn hard for Shannon to focus on irregular German verbs and the US Constitution when she could be having Breakfast in Oz, taking tea on Baker Street, or running off to late-night campfires on the shores of New Switzerland. It's in New Switzerland that Shannon meets Fritz, the eldest son of the Swiss Family Robinson. As a self-proclaimed fat theater geek, Shannon isn't used to flustering boys the way she seems to fluster Fritz. Despite her looming exams, Shannon spends night after night exploring the island's jungles and beaches with Fritz as her dashing field guide. Shannon is presented with the unparalleled opportunity to live inside a story, but a life of adventure with Fritz means abandoning her scenic design dreams - and worse, her family. Shannon has to choose between New York and New Switzerland before both doors slam shut for good. THE DANGEROUS DOORS OF SHANNON ANDERSON is a completed YA magical realism novella.

In a bronze age culture on an alien world live two teenagers. Apjay speaks to the dead in dreams and remembers words of a language forgotten long ago. He believes his gifts come from the invisible stars--lights that once ruled the night sky. The only person in his tribe who understands him, so he believes, is the beautiful Iota. Iota is a gifted healer who, as a child, watched her father die of illness. While the messages Apjay brings from the dead comfort her, she has no trust for the stars whom she believes are to blame for her father's death. The discovery of a turquoise skeleton prompts Apjay to go on a spiritual quest. Fearing that the past is repeating itself and Apjay will suffer her father's fate, she follows him. She will stop at nothing to save Apjay from the stars and himself. She'll even follow him to the dreaded city of the starstealers. Together they will discover the deeper mysteries of their world.
