(Book is in 1st person) Jo wakes up in utter blackness, not remembering anything but her own name and her lessons in school. Her school memories are fuzzy, and she can only remember facts, not people, places, or anything like that. Jo also remembers her age, she is seventeen. As she wakes up, she is shocked to discover that fairy tales are real, Santa Claus is missing, and the Red Queen is ruling the world. She is thrust into a world she barely knows anything about, and tries her hardest to save it from total destruction. Amidst all that, there is friendship, love, scarifice, a little bit of crazy, and lots of sarcastic humor. (ps hi my name is Annabella and this is my first book. My grammar might be terrible, so sorry about that. I will try to update once to twice a week, but responsibilities that keep me pretty busy. Hope u enjoy!!!) Important edit: Please ignore the awful writing qualities of the first few chapters, I promise it gets a lot better after the fourth chapter.

~~~Not full description because it's too long~~~ I wiped my sweaty palms on the hem of my floral dress. Today was the day. The day I became an Assassin. My society, the Secret Society of Assassins, hung in the shadows. We pretended to be normal, but we secretly killed those who the Master Assassin deemed worthy of killing. None of us have ever met him, but that's just me and the Fledglings. The Assassins have met him. You meet him after you graduate from Fledgling. To do that you have to kill. I picked my weapon of choice- a katana that gleamed silver in the light- and things were supposed to go great. I am to kill Jacob Starly, a burly kid with a mop of reddish-brown hair thrown haphazardly upon his head. I am forced to do what I do. I don't want to. I dream of peace. But I don't have a choice. So that is my dilemma. I don't want to kill.
Shadows are great in many ways. Your shadow boosts your self-esteem by looking very skinny in the afternoon. You can look at shadows to see what's going on around you. But they aren't as great when they try to kill you. Rose is having a normal, everyday, regular day as an eleventh grader when the shadows start attacking. There is no escape. Join this heart stopping, page turning adventure written in varying perspectives (I.E. some chapters in Rose's perspective, some in the Shadows' perspective, and some written in third person.)
