I've always believed I can make a difference. The faith I have in this is unwavering. When I came home on my tenth birthday to find my mother's fragile mental state swinging into crazed, I still believed I could help. I thought it was a problem of my making, and I've lived my life trying to remedy the mistake every since. Never mind that I don't know what I did. Never mind that she hits me and yells. Forget the fact that I sometimes want to die because I feel so worthless. Ignore all of that because this one idea is all I can think about. Making a difference in her life and others' lives consumes me. But will it destroy me too? Maybe. Maybe not. I'll find out when I reach the breaking point. As to where that point is? Only time will tell. The only thing I know for sure anymore is that I have to try to make up for my sins, whatever they are. And until I do that, I doubt I'll ever find my peace.

Esther has been struggling with music block for the past six months, which is bad enough on its own, but with a deadline approaching for the Music and Arts Festival this year, she's getting seriously stressed out. And if she has to come from school one more time just to listen to her sister and her dad fighting again, she thinks she's going to lose it. And then there's Liam, who has only been at Foxhill Park College for a week and already managed to get himself involved with a Drama Club production, an underground a capella choir, and - surprisingly - a girl. Apparently, she's too cool for him, but from his perspective that's no reason not to at least give it a try. But in doing so he starts off a chain of events at their school that will completely shake up both of their worlds...

[Book 1 of the ARC10 Trilogy] **Winner of the 2017 Watty Storysmith award** The President created an underground safe-haven for the survivors of the alien invasion. He built it to save them all from total annihilation. He protects them, feeds them, keeps them under his ever-watchful gaze so they can live. All he asks is that they obey. Captain Janika Lorn doesn't want to obey. Not if it means spreading her legs and contributing to the President's precious eugenics program. As a perfect candidate for the Human Hope Project, she is obligated by law to make more citizens for the dying society. But all she wants is her freedom to fight the Invaders and protect the people who already exist. If the mandated program wasn't bad enough, the worst part is trying to fulfill it with Captain Dean Freyer, her scientifically matched partner and best friend of sixteen years. Just as Captain Lorn is about to succumb to her fate, another opportunity arises. A mysterious commanding officer asks her to lead a human refugee ship--to save humanity by evacuating the destroyed Earth and shuttling the remaining population to a new habitable exoplanet 400 light years away. The mission is perilous. Especially because now, standing between her and her freedom is the hostile alien hosts of her ship, the ARC10, a sister returned from the dead, an array of impossibly confusing alien tech, a rekindled heat between her and Dean, and a sexy militia chief she can't seem to keep her hands off of. ARC10 is a romance-heavy sci-fi with the speculative horror of Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale and the military action of Battle: Los Angeles. Cover art by @FayLane Copyright © 2016 by LL Montez

Supernatural meets Grumpy Old Men. Richard had always believed he'd enjoy a few golden years before Death's bony hand reached for him. But what does he get? He gets to live across the hall from friggin' Stan Kapcheck with his shiny bald head and perfect teeth that were all his own, Stan Kapcheck who struts around like a peacock in his leather coat. Honestly! What kind of respectable senior citizen wears leather? But Stanley isn't your average senior citizen. He's a Hunter--a slayer of all things unnatural. He reveals to Richard that the one monster which has eluded him is the same beast that killed Richard's wife and it's due to kill again before the next new moon. The two men load up on ibuprofen and prune juice and embark on a cross-country demon-hunting adventure, but when The Devil Herself kidnaps Stanley, Richard realizes the line between Hunter and hunted is very thin, indeed, and the ornery octogenarian only has a few days left to trap The Devil, save Stanley, and slay the monster who murdered his bride. Fran has a tried-and-tested solution for dealing with her problems: run away. And despite what the self-help books say, it's worked pretty well up until now. "Now" referring to her hiding in the seaside town of Seacombe until the end of summer, and ignoring her rocky relationship with her mother until she leaves for university. She likes to think the combination of the fresh sea air, being 50 miles away from home and the guitar she uses to drown her sorrows with will help calm her nerves. But her problems always catch up to her eventually, and Fran is about to learn that she can only run for so long... [genre: acoustic]

[Book 2 of the ARC10 Trilogy] Rampant addictions, psychotic breakdowns, and threats of mutiny keep Commander Janika Lorn up all night. Transporting two-thousand souls safely from a destroyed Earth to a new habitat aboard the refugee ship ARC10 has been a special kind of hell - especially while also hiding her illegal pregnancy from her commanding officer. She wonders if they should turn around and take their chances in the crumbling underground bunker city they abandoned, even with the hostile invading aliens still patrolling the sky. She wonders if they're capable of surviving the rest of the journey. Because it seems like her troubles couldn't get any worse, and they've only been in space for three months. As usual, Commander Janika Lorn is wrong. When she finally hits an all-time low in the confines of an alien prison, a botched rescue operation puts her life in the black-gloved hands of Captain Shin-Hyun Moon of the HMS Valediction - a notorious vagrant and patchwork monster who was stitched together with the eclectic skins of the galaxy. Despite being instant enemies, Lorn and Moon are forced to work together to salvage their separate missions that have gone totally awry. HMS Valediction is the sequel to 2017 Watty winner ARC10, the second installation of the ARC10 trilogy. Cover art by the enormously talented @FayLane
