Never had she been told this as a child because she had been just that, a child. She would never have a perfect childhood and never would she be able to have that special bond with her parents. And all because she was a mistake. All because she was the product of a forsaken romance. All because she was forbidden.

Thorin and the company are eating dinner in Rivendell when Lindir runs in with a terrified expression. Lord Elrond knows why its because Lindir is terrified of his adopted sister, Maleficent. When Thorin and his company meet her they see why Lindir is terrified of her. When Dwalin and Maleficent catch eyes they realize they are lovers.
