A true, mostly, humorous, look at my experiences as a woman in the military in the 1980's . I describe some unusual experiences i had while deployed to South Korea.

This is autobiographical material about how after nearly dying of cancer i went for my dreams and didnt give up when things were the hardest. Its about my first horse Bo and how he literally saved my life and made me whole again in mind , body and spirit. How neither one of us would have made it with out the other to lean on in hard times. . Its also about that once in a million match between an animal and human .

This is a rhyming poem that describes my experience as the wife of a career soldier in the US Army. Im having trouble describing what you find when you read it. The saddest thing is that my story is not special. My story is average, normal, and most of all has a happy ending in that my soldier came home everytime and we are still married when its finally over. In my poem i talk about a woman named Jane, she is a real person i knew many years ago. In the late 90"s i saw firsthand the horror of a neighbor losing her husband when Janes husband died while in the middle of redeploying home to her (a matter of hours or days away). It was the first military death i had ever been exposed to. Sadly it was not the last. I wrote this for its cathartic effect for me and also as a tribute to all the military families still living the life everyday.

This is a poem i wrote about my horse Bo. Like many people i was guilty of putting my dreams on hold, thinking there is always time..I always wanted a horse since i was a child but the army life we lived kept making me put off getting my first horse. Then I got a real wake up call. I bought bo shortly after being diagnosed with cancer 12 yrs ago. He helped me through those dark days and filled my world with light and hope again. He wasnt much to look at. He was skinny and used hard but there was just something about him that spoke to me. I bought him the first day i saw him and promised him he would never be hungry again and would live the rest of his life with me until he died of old age in his own pasture. We had many years of wonderful trail rides together in the adirondack mountains and around our home. We both even learned how to chase cows in a rodeo event ! Bo finally passed away this past summer of old age. He was 25 yrs old and died under his favorite shade tree in his pasture. I miss him so.

Taken in by the Academy, where young dragon riders are trained to fight, she must rise up and prove herself worthy of the name of the 'Rider of Legend'. Yet as Akira finds out, fighting for an almost hopeless cause when no one believes in you, is not easy. With all odds stacked against them, Akira and her dragon must fight for their own lives as well as try to fulfill all expectations and free the Lands from a tyrant's rule once and for all.
