Everyone is born with animal traits. Whether you're born with ears and a tail, or claws and fangs, everyone is born with something. The most common is to have some relation to a cat or wolf (ears and tails) and the rarest [and most dangerous] is to be born with wings. Lance is one of the few unlucky souls born with wings.
