A beat of a second passed before he slowly pulled away from me, the suffocating heat withdrawing with him as he straightened up. My eyes lifted to meet his as he released his hold on my knife, and I flicked my wrist, flipping it with ease so my hands closed around its smooth, still-warm handle. The room was silent. The ten other men seated on the couch didn't bother trying to hide the shock on their faces that a hunter had just agreed to a deal with their Alpha. I totally felt the same way, even if I was that dumb motherfucker. They seemed to be imagining what horrible, unthinkable threats he could have whispered into my ear to make me cave, but to think my resolve had dissolved with just four unexpected words from his mouth. Sometimes, I wondered if I even had a brain. "So," I said now, holding back a sigh as I looked up into those steely, unreadable eyes, "If I'm going to work with you, I'll need a name to call you by. Unless you prefer to be referred to as moody dick?" Silence followed my words. "What, don't you guys know Moby Dick?" I asked no one in particular, and ten pairs of eyes exchanged glances that further questioned my sanity. The last pair of eyes held mine steady. The ring of gold in them seemed to burn like a flickering candlelight against the night of the sea. "Heath," he said, and I could finally place his accent as the name curled and settled in my ears like a cat by the fireplace. I smiled. "Well, cool." I put my hand out between us, the one holding the knife, the silver-pointed tip facing him as I offered him a handshake. "Nice to meet you moody dick, I'm Alessandra."

As far back as Cali can remember she only knew of a handful of truths. One, the world she lived in was divided into two factions: the Gentries and the Dockers. Two, a four mile high wall that housed Betas within, separated the two groups quite efficiently. And three, while one side worked hard to scrap together a meager existence for themselves, the other flourished in the lifestyle like that of a king. Or so she had heard. As a Docker, she would spend most of her life never running into any one of the Gentries. The factions never mingled together, never associated with each other, and no one ever crossed the wall. The Gentries were the dominate class of the species, comprised predominately of Alphas and Betas while the Dockers leaned more towards the submissive side. So when word of an outbreak among the Gentry population spreads, Cali couldn't help feeling a little smug about the whole thing. Why should she care if they were plagued with some disease that would cause them to go mad and thus feral? They didn't care about any of them on this side of the wall, so why should she care about their problems? So when the biggest, bad ass of alpha on that side of the wall needs to find a cure from his recent illness, he'll do what he has always done and get what he wants. Even if that means kidnapping an omega and forcing her into an unbreakable bond in order to stop the progression of the disease within him. Life was already a dog fight before they came for her. Now she'll have to get even stronger in order to survive the brutality, the corruption, and the emotional manipulation the other side of the wall has to offer. Note: This is currently a part of a project to weed out writers block. It was evident that while I have momentarily stumbled on a chapter of my recent story, my list of story ideas continues to grow longer. I will be writing several starting parts for various stories and continue to finish those stories that gain the most popularity.

[Completed] Every Wolf Moon, humans are selected from each village to be sacrificed to the werewolves; creatures worshipped by humans as godlike figures. In a twist of fate, seventeen year old Mila Young is selected to be the annual sacrifice for the Trinity pack, the most powerful pack ruled by King Alpha Roman Stone. Alpha Roman and all werewolves under his rule are cursed. His hatred for the humans and his war on the deity Moon Goddesses has caused his kind to lose the favor of their blessings. However, when Mila reveals herself to have a connection to the werewolves unlike anything a human has ever had before, it becomes apparent that she may be the key to ending the suffering of Roman and his wolves... if only he can overcome the lifelong hatred that clouds his mind and darkens his heart. Excerpt: "You smell like wolf," The King Alpha declared, his voice low and angry. "I killed one," I both explained the smell and threatened at the same time. "And you think you can kill me? You think you can take my pack?" I glanced around at all the lycans still in their wolf forms, bowing obediently towards me. Could I take all of them on? I doubted it. I didn't even think I'd get this far. I didn't even know what was going on. When I turned back to the King Alpha, he was significantly closer. "Stay back!" I cried out in fear. The power flared within me once more, lifting whimpers from around me. The King Alpha hesitated again, his eyes skating over me with confusion. He took a deep breath, sniffing the air around me as he hadn't yet gotten any closer. "You smell like... my mate." {{Warning: Some scenes may be unsuitable for audiences below the age of 15 and offensive to those of all ages. Read at your own risk.}} Rankings: #1 in Lycans #1 in wolf
