No one saw it coming. No one could have guessed that the vaccine that was supposed to save lives, would take them instead. Once the death toll started to climb, it took less than a day for the world to change forever. When Bri's roommate suddenly develops a taste for cannibalism, she finds herself trapped in her upstairs bathroom, unable to comprehend the horrors that she sees through the small window. That limited view of the outside world doesn't begin to show Bri just how much danger she's going to be in when she finally escapes her home. Running for her life, Bri won't be alone for long. With the help of a bat wielding stranger, she barely escapes the overrun city. Together, they just might survive long enough to find a safe haven. The zombie apocalypse is a strange time to be alive. The dead walk, and eat the living, but they're not the most dangerous thing this new world has to offer. There are other survivors out there. And not all of them can be trusted. This is a FanFic of The Academy: Ghostbird by C.L. Stone and The Krinar Chronicles by Anna Zaires. I do not own these characters or the main story lines. In this story the Krinars, an alien race, land on Earth. They are an ancient race whose elders started the evolution of Earth to provide their people with a sister race. Shortly after their arrival, they discover the whereabouts of a child that had been stolen at birth on Krina but somehow ended up living with humans on Earth. When they went to collect her, they found another missing Krinar child and took him with them. The boy's friends are searching for him, they will do anything to reclaim their brother. One lesson they all must learn and that is "What it means to be Krinar."

It's been her secret for years. She never had the best life, but when her mother found out, Sang found out just how cruel humans could be. The punishments were relentless, always for things she didn't do. Her mother's favorite was to strip her down naked, force her to shift, and lock her out of the house until it was time for school. Then, Sang would be let inside to get ready, go to school, come home and do some chores, possibly being punished, and then it was outside for the rest of the night/weekend. She was a 'creature from Hell,' as her atheist mother might say, an animal. And animals live outside. That doesn't make it any easier to survive out there, however. So when Sang gets stuck in a tree, and the boys come to the rescue, she's grateful for the 'friends.' She soaks up their attention and affection, quickly worming her way into their team- but as only a mere cat. They confide in her, love her as a pet, unaware of her true nature. They have no idea the kitten they love so much is really just a teenage girl. How long can she keep up the act? What happens when the boys find out?
