He was convinced life without Kurama was meaningless. "̶C̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ y̶o̶u̶ f̶o̶r̶g̶i̶v̶e̶ m̶e̶ i̶f̶ I̶ b̶r̶o̶k̶e̶ a̶ p̶r̶o̶m̶i̶s̶e̶?̶"̶ It was here again. His serious face. His firm frown. In a daze, Naruto stalked forwards. His cheeks were so pale, so thin. He was walking to his death, repeating the words he once thought were valid. "Promises were meant to be broken." With closed eyes, he allowed his body to be dragged further down into the river. ("And for that to happen I must die.")
