Nachdem sich Hannibal dem FBI stellte, Will zuvor alles nahm was er liebte und dies tat, um ihm nah zu sein, benötigte Will jedoch seine Hilfe erneut, um den sogenannten Roten Drachen mithilfe eines vorgetäuschten Fluchtversuch Lecters zu ködern. Hannibal kam jedoch wirklich frei und er und Will haben es schlussendlich nach einem blutigen Kampf geschafft, den Drachen zu besiegen.
