When Mason turns seventeen, he gets the worst news somebody can get on their birthday. His parents are getting a divorce. Mason becomes so outraged, he runs away. It has been four years since Mason ran away from his life, he has sine started over, if by starting over you mean living on the streets, moving from place to place. In the four years that Mason has been gone, he has had his ups and downs, such as getting mugged on multiple occasions, or finding a hundred bucks on the side of the road. But just as he begins to get used to his new life, he stumbles across his mother, who tells him she has been looking for him. She also brings bad news. His father is in the hospital, dying. Mason agrees to go back home, but is he ready to face his father after all these years?
