Easy to find what’s wrong. Harder to find what’s right. Vee is a Hunter of the highest order. She is dedicated to her cause and performs her duties to the best of her ability. Risking life and limb if need be to succeed. Hers is a life of honor and duty, but she doesn’t live in her world, she merely exists. Long ago she had closed her heart to the world, because joy was fleeting and not worth feeling the pain and sorrow left by the loss of her sister. She would rather feel nothing than have to relive that agony. From the moment she watched her beloved sister stolen from her by one of those demons Vee knew the purpose of every breath she took. Destroy the vampires. She would not rest until the world was rid of them and the grief they left in their wake, until she knew no other family would be torn apart as hers was to sate their aberrant needs. But when the true identity of the Master Vampire is revealed, the man every Hunter and Slayer in their clan have spent their lives hunting, Vee must make a choice. Let her instincts guide her and fulfill her duty. Or risk the pain and follow her heart. The first in my Music is My Muse series, this and all other M.I.M.M. Novels follow the same inspiration if not the same story line, music.

Safety is Relative, my Dad once told me. It depends on how you look at it. For example, many more people have a fear of flying than a fear of driving. Why? Cars are familiar, and we see them every day. Most people don't crash their cars. Planes, however, are different. The only time they are in the news are if they've crashed or exploded. They don't seem safe. But safety is relative, depending on how you look at it. Millions more people are killed every year from car crashes than plane crashes. So whilst being in a car may seem safer...in reality, planes are so much more. I didn't understand this concept at first. It was only after, that I understood. Because moving to the safest place in the world doesn't necessarily mean that it is. A village in the middle of nowhere, with the highest ratio of slayers to humans in the country. No vampire would dare set foot in a five-mile radius of the place. So you're safe, right? Wrong. What if some of the deadliest killers in the whole of history decided to live there too? No-one looks for a vampire in a vampire-free village. Doesn't seem so safe now, does it?

Katara and her twin sister Kayta are benders from the Southern Water Tribe. However they do not bend the same element. Katara is a waterbender, but Kayta is a firebender. That's not the only thing that is different about Kayta though. She has two different colored eyes, silver and amber, red hair, and she did not inherit the olive skin that her whole family has. Kayta and her sister are extremely different, but they both want the same thing. To learn how to bend properly. Maybe helping the Avatar will help Kayta understand why she is so different, and how to control such a difficult element.

In the year 2012, there are two types of people on the earth; those who are normal, and those who aren't. Our story takes place with those who aren't. They're called mutants. They have special gifts that are rare and hard to control. Most go to a special academy for mutants that will teach them how to effectively use their gifts and make the choice between wrong and right. They have several problems: a) the normal people want to destroy them, b) the world as they know it is coming to an end, and c) their own are beginning to turn on them. To make matters worse, a new villainous mutant appears as a traitor and could possibly destroy the universe. The X-Men are having a tough time taking control of the situation. There aren't enough students at that point where they can freely use their powers without having to worry about it destroying the world. So when a meek girl, seemingly normal, stumbles upon the academy and asks to be trained, everyone sort of just laughs at her. They believe she's normal and there's nothing special about her. All except for three; Logan, a.k.a. Wolverine, Ororo, a.k.a. Storm, and Scott, a.k.a. Cyclops. They know she isn't your average everyday nineteen-year-old girl because they've seen her in action. And it's up to her to control her powers and save the academy, and possibly the world.
