Thomas Sanders has schizophrenia, but he doesn't know it. Schizophrenia is thoughts or experiences that seem out of touch with reality, disorganized speech or behavior, and decreased participation in daily activities. Thomas is in college- his senior year- and he's doing theatre for his 4th year in college now. And, he did theatre all throughout high school. He's trying to get better at acting, so he can "act like others". Not just different people and characters for a fictional play/musical. He realizes he can't seem to find anyone else who has voices- characters- in their head, who get displayed around them ever so often, and talk to them. People around him see him as talking to himself. So when he realized others think it's weird at the end of 8th grade (last year in middle school), he instantly took theatre in high school. to be able to "act like others". The voices in his head, he explains, as not voices, but parts of his personality, and they all look like him. Patton, his morality. Logan, his logic. Roman (also called "Princey"), his creativity. Virgil, his anxiety. And other sides he hasn't met yet, he doesn't even know there are others. Thomas does well in school. Academically. Not socially. Well, sort of. He has 2 friends, Joan and Talyn. They're both dating, while Thomas stays single. He accidentally got outed about being gay, and he's been bullied ever since. Joan and Talyn don't know that, yet they're both too anxious to ask why Thomas wouldn't come to class, then show up later with bruises. Virgil was never accepted in with the other sides. None of them even know his name! Roman, the prince, Thomas's creativity hates him the most. He's always insulting him and telling him how awful he is or how he ruins anything remotely good for Thomas. Logan doesn't like him because Virgil makes him furious most of the time. Patton treats him like his son, and always tries to include him, always seeing hope in him. Virgil hates himself as much as it is, so he usually spends time listening to music, or being in his room. Or both. He's not really an enjoyed side, as he knows that. He's just doing his job, but when one side hears something on the other side of his door, everything changes.
