The world had gone to hell long ago, taken over by the vampire race. In order to keep some sort of peace in our land, the Vampire Lords made a consecutive agreement. The rich and powerful humans could survive just as they had been, untouched by the vampires save for the occasional blood collections, or so they thought In reality, we were all under their control. Castles spread out throughout our land, one landing in each city. Each castle varied in the number of vampires residing there, but all of them carried a Lord. The Lords were the ones in charge in every city, whether we liked it or not. The vampires often roam through the city, making sure that everyone was in order and no one stepped out of line. If you stepped out of line, you died, end of story. Even if the rich were still under their control, their lives were still better than the poor. The poorest lives held a much worse fate. The men were to be put to work as slaves, whether that meant serving a specific vampire, or just building their castles, they were slaves. The women were to be pets. Pets were the lowest rank you could have. They were forced into cages that were too small to stand in with collars around their necks. They spent their lives in pet shops, just waiting for the dreadful day that they'll be bought. They were treated like animals, trained into what their master wanted, and punished if they misbehaved. Those who were lucky enough to live through that, we're to be slaughtered for their blood at age twenty-five in an act to make sure that our population would stay steady. I was born into this world. Born into this world full of blood-sucking monsters. Except, I was one of the lucky ones. Was. It all ended for me when I was 12, when I was taken away from the last bit of hope and family that I had left. Ever since then, I've lived in a cage, just rotting away, waiting, dreading for the day that some monster would make me his. This is my life. I am a pet. ~~~ Cover by: @mshacake

She and her brother Kel have escaped their fate by hiding near the frozen mountains. But when bounty hunters snatch Kel, Mirra injured and unable to track long distances will lose him unless she gives herself up to his captors. The young man is the Kingdom's missing Prince, feared dead after his escort was attacked on an expedition. Shah Jamshid al-Hassan, king of the Sazian Empire, is dead. He is succeeded by three heirs: Esfandar, the crown prince; Soraya, the forgotten daughter; and Roshani- the one who killed him. Roshani felt no remorse shoving her sword through her father's heart. Nor does she have any doubts about imprisoning her cunning grandmother in the depths of the royal prison, where she can't cause any more trouble. The tyrannical tendencies in the young empress only seem to be tempered by Kasra, her infant half-brother born shortly before the coup. To protect Kasra, Roshani is determined to kill her other siblings and end this conflict once and for all. But spies and betrayers abound in the palace, and Roshani may have more enemies within than without. Esfandar's mind has always been more attuned to war than to the politics behind it. Shocked and outraged by his sisters' betrayals, he seeks to reclaim the throne that is rightfully his. His troops rally in support of their emperor, retaking the north from Roshani's forces. Yet doubt soon creeps into the young prince's mind. As his armies forge ahead, Esfandar will discover that governing and conquering are not one and the same. The large personalities of Esfandar and Roshani have always outshone Soraya in the palace. Neither the shah nor the other palace lords ever concerned themselves with the quiet girl hiding behind her mother's skirts. But now, having escaped Roshani's coup, the empire has been forced to consider Soraya a threat. Protected by the priests and magis of the fire temple, Soraya's claim to the throne is the weakest. Her only hope is a strange power from the gods, one she's not even sure she can control. Three siblings. Three armies. One crown.

A Beast stalks the night... but Beauty hunts him. A reimagining of the story you thought you knew. Rell grew up hearing stories of the Human Realm, a fantastic world with light at the flick of a finger, metal boxes that fly through the sky; a fantastic, faraway fairytale that she knows is too good to be true. Because Rell lives in the Dark Realm: a world full of magical creatures and a low-hanging sky, all protected by The Blood Rose. Until the day the Blood Rose is stolen away and taken to the Human Realm. Without it, the two realms will meet with disastrous consequences, the human sun bleaching all the magic from the Dark Realm. And so Rell leaves everything she knows to bring it back. There's only one problem: the Human Realm- especially high school- is nothing like the stories. There's some sort of code with words like "twerking" and "Instagram" she can't understand, and then there's Bastien, the boy who hates Rell for reasons she can't explain. But when Rell realizes Bastien is keeping just as many secrets as she is, the two become an unlikely team in the search for the Blood Rose. Time is ticking, and more than just The Dark Realm is at stake. Whoever stole the rose is now cursed to turn into a Beast every full moon, and is hidden among them. Students are going missing, and dark creatures are slipping into the Human Realm. Rell needs to find the Blood Rose, slay the Beast, survive high school, and sort out these new, confusing feelings for Bastien--all before the night of the full moon. To fail could mean the end of The Dark Realm and every magical creature within, but to succeed means she'll lose the boy she's falling for, and a Realm more beautiful than she ever imagined. A modern-day reimaging of Beauty and the Beast.
