Another Maichard Story.. Si Nicomaine Dei C. Mendoza ay isang ulilang lubos at nagpupursigeng magkaroon ng maganda at matiwasay na pamumuhay. Nang mamatay ang kanyang ama, inihabilin siya nito sa isang taong hindi niya kilala. Ibinilin ng ama niya na tulungan siyang makatapos at mabigyan ng trabaho pagkagraduate niya sa kolehiyo. Iyon lang ang hiling ng ama sa taong pinagbilinan sa kanya. Ngunit di niya inaasahan na ang taong pinagbilinan ng kanyang ama ay may mas malaking bagay na ibibigay sa kanya bukod sa pagpapatapos ng pag-aaral at pagbibigay ng trabaho. Ipinagkasundo siya nito sa anak upang maging asawa sa kondisyong ipamamana nito ang lahat ng ari-arian sa anak kapag pinakasalan si Nicomaine. Kaakibat ng pangako sa namayapang ama ni Nicomaine na tutulungan siya sa buhay ay ang pag-asang mababago ang sariling anak na matigas ang kalooban, mapagmataas at babaero.
