The war is over and a year has passed. Hogwarts, now rebuilt, is back open for business. The seventh years have been asked to come back to school and complete their final year of school. One year after the Great battle, Hermione Granger has made the decision to return to Hogwarts and further her education as a special advanced student instead of accepting the very tempting offer from St Mungos to become a healer straight after the battle, unlike Ron and Harry who jumped at the offer from the ministry to become aurors without a second thought. Hermione was never one to accept a position she had not earned, therefore asking for a year to complete her schooling and write her N.E.W.T.s before accepting the position. Draco Malfoy, despite the prosecution he knows he might receive, has also decided to complete his advanced Hogwarts education. Over the past year he has remained locked up in Malfoy manor - a house now considered by locals to be haunted by the ghost of Lucius Malfoy after his death at the hands of aurors while trying to escape after the great battle because screams and cries could often be heard from the walls - due to the haunting realization of what he had done, and the torturous memories he had to endure. But now he has to face his fears and earn the forgiveness of those he has hurt, starting with the woman he treated like scum.

During the Wizarding War, Ron Weasley dies after confessing his love for Hermione. Draco admits he loves Hermione and Harry kisses her. Hermione know's Ron would be happy if she chose Harry but she can't ignore her feelings for Draco. She thinks and believes she loves Draco but she needs to hide her feelings and vulnerability from Draco when he sets her up and gets her kidnapped under his fathers orders. Read on :) Hermione opened her mouth to scream, to protest, but no sound came out. The sound of war, fighting, death and blood melted away so Hermione could only hear the thud as Ron's body hit the floor as he ceased to live. His skin became pale. His eyes stared straight at the ceiling, lifeless and dull. Hermione crawled towards him, tears refused to leave her eyes. He wasn't dead. He couldn't be. He was Ron. Her one and only love. She touched his chest and felt the coldness seep into her.

Draco Malfoy and Hermione Granger? Impossible some would say but nothing is impossible. True love always conquers in the end and hopefully it will conquer in this story too. The war is over at long last and with some hard labour, time and a final wave of the wand, Hogwarts is reconstructed to look like its old self. The secret passageways, the pesky house elves and the magnificent food. It's only fair to let the people who missed their last year of Hogwarts to come back and have all the opportunities that they could ever want. This is why Harry, Ron and Hermione came back to Hogwarts, thankful to be away from the chaos of people asking for their photographs and signatures. Draco Malfoy also came back after being cleared of his previous records. He has always had strong feelings for Hermione but had never acted on them. He had decided to stay away from her this year but that was made difficult as Hermione was Head Girl and he was Head Boy. Will the two most unlikely people fall in love at long last?
