Logan Turner was different, and Eve knew that.
She would watch him as he played his cello, the intensity in his eyes. Music was his love, his one and only, and no one could ever replace the affinity he had for the instrument.
That was why she didn't try. She didn't dress up, because she never really had anything to show off. She didn't talk much because she had nothing to say.
All she ever had or wanted to do was to sit next to him, stand-partners, but never really friends, to admire him and his skill.
Because unlike her, he was everything.
He had everything.
He played the cello like a god, and he looked like one too.
And also unlike her, he would be going places.
In a year, he would be auditioning for Julliard, and he would get in.
At least, that was the way it should've been.
When Logan receives the prognosis for a degenerative optic condition that leaves him knowing he will soon be legally blind, he slowly begins to leave the orchestra, out of fear of never playing the same.
Except Eve is bound and determined to keep him in the orchestra, for her sake if not for his.
Though not nearly as talented as Logan, she begins to reteach him how to play by sound instead of by sight.
Bound together by something that never should have happened, the two form a friendship, a rock to hold on to as they reach adulthood.
Perhaps she could find her purpose and some type of love along the way.
