At the close of the 'Destruction' - Mother (Terra) had finally had enough. No more would the humans be allowed to slaughter one another pointlessly. No more would they take the rest of her, and her other children, down with them in the process. Thus, she called forth Terra Natus (Earth Arisen): "They came from the trees, they came from the water, from the rocks, from the plants. Mother Terra calling her other children out from centuries of standing idle, martyrs of a dying world, to fight back. Some saw them it is said, saw them walk right up out of the water, saw a boulder unfold itself and stand, just as you or I might. One second a mighty tree, the next? A being, arms stretched up to the glorious sun. (And) No sooner did we see them, than they were shooting us down. We were finally paying for our sins, and for the sins of our parents, and their parents before them...It was a heavy debt to pay." Generations later, the Terra Brothers, or Protectors, haven't even seen a human near their borders in so long that rumors of their extinction has spread. Rumors which are about to be put to rest in a big way, when Isa (the human) and Salix (the Protector) find their paths inescapably interwoven in the pursuit of eliminating a threat to Mother - the likes of which hasn't been known since the age of human dominance. But what is it? And what could have been so terrible as to drive Isa within the Protector's borders in the first place, knowing she would most likely be killed? Furthermore, how will Salix and Isa's relationship develop as they come to find, much to their surprise, that the other is not exactly like what they had been lead to believe? Come inside and find out! * Copyright © 2016 by Nathalia. All rights reserved. * Original and epic cover art by @Neenerst - I mean seriously, look how she captured all the elements of the story. Ari Callahan has no idea how to talk to boys -- or how to talk to anyone for that matter. Enter Zac, the cute new guy in town who won't stop texting her. But is his interest real, or does he have a hidden agenda? ***** Found as a young child washed up on the beach, 17-year-old Ari Callahan has never uttered a word out loud to anyone -- not even her adoptive family. Psychologists have diagnosed her with a condition called selective mutism, but Ari can't help identifying with her namesake character, Ariel, the little mermaid in the fairytale whose voice was stolen by a sea witch. Mermaid-obsession aside, Ari's silence makes socializing tough. She's never had a boyfriend or been asked out on a date. Not until Zac, the confident new arrival in town, asks for her number. But Zac has his own reasons for texting with Ari. He's part of a movement to sabotage the artificial music app called SirenSong, threatening to render human singing obsolete. Zac's collaborators have scoured the globe in search of a singing voice perfect enough to break the SirenSong spell, and their search has led them straight to Ari's beachside town. Will her relationship with Zac help Ari find her voice and unlock the secrets of her origins? Or will he use her and leave her high and dry? Title: Ari and Zac (formerly The Mermaid Hypothesis) Content Warning: This story contains references to selective mutism, suicidal thoughts, and early childhood trauma.

*THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus. When the mistakes begin to duplicate, and a girl shows up who knows her name, everything begins to change in Compound 4. Highest rank in Science Fiction: #9

SIREN is a novel about six people from around the world selected by the UN to investigate a strange musical transmission emanating from Neptune's orbit. They're given a spaceship with cutting edge technology, placed into an induced coma, and expected to report back in three years time. But when the awakened crew arrives at the origin of the transmission, their electronics malfunction and they're driven through the Kuiper Belt. With their engines ruined, oxygen supplies dwindling and one of the team members suffering from hypoxia, time is of the essence for the troubled squad. Their situation grows ever more tense when Tommy Fletcher discovers three alien ships watching their every move. Tommy Fletcher, the protagonist of SIREN, is the resident linguistics expert who over-thinks, second-guesses and has a habit of biting his nails. He may be in his late twenties, but Tommy's ceaseless trepidation makes the rest of the hardened crew feel like he's fragile and witless. Will the chaotic events happening around Tommy break his brittle will, or can he shed his hesitant demeanour and become a hero?

In Tokyo, where the System siphons thought, emotions & memories, a literature student meets a strange psychic girl and they embark on an escape from mindless agents, dream worlds and reality itself, in a soul-searching journey for love, for identity and what it means to be human. But all that remains is a peculiar coffee shop order. The novel examines the human condition, perception, socio-political systems, capitalism and consumer culture, incorporating paranoiac conspiracy theories, surreal cosmic visions, circular symbolism and shifting parallel worlds, with profound discussions of coffee, art, literature and music. [Dystopia, Magical Realism, Philosophy, Literary] #1 Sci-Fi, Spiritual; #Wattys2014 Award Winner; Featured on Wattpad, IndieReader, @DIGonUSA "Struck me to the very core of my being." "Very interesting concept of reality... Thought provoking.." "I have been turned to a whole new way of thinking because of you." "Like a seven course meal full of spice and illumination... One does not listen to a classical piece to get to its ending. No. It is the ride, the moment by moment...a genuine Masamune among stories." "It was both personable and philosophical. A rare breed of good story and thought provoking ideas... A virtual standing ovation would not be enough to encapsulate the absolute awe I have of you." "It's not a regular thing to find a piece of work that oozes sophistication and embodies literature and art." "The world Takatsu has created opens to the deeper awareness of another, the draw of another." - Mary L Tabor, Wattpad author, essayist, professor "Offers acute, almost painful observations of the minutiae of life, if life took place in a Murakami snow-globe." - IndieReader Insiders "Vapoury style that seems to hover off world at times...haunting and strange (which is good)...You're on to something different, striking." - B.W.
