Alain loses two important special things in a car accident: the love of his life, Althea, and - surprisingly - all memories connected to her for the past four years. Coming home, he discovers a near-dead puppy and nurses it back to health. He stumbles upon Althea's diary, which, when opened, manifests Althea's ghost, guiding Alain to recover his lost memories. Together with the puppy, her ghost, and a new friend, Alain pieces together his fragmented memories as he is guided by Althea's spirit to see if her life and her death was a reason for him to live.
