BOOK 3 of: I Don't Trust You...
"What's your name?"
I glance up at him before looking back down.
"Ashes. But, call me Ash." I mumble.
I can feel him staring at me in surprise and confusion.
"Ash? Why should I call you that?" He asks. I pause for a second, then slowly turn my head towards him. My eyes showing no emotion as they lock onto his dark orbs.
"When something is burned, all that's left is ashes." I start slowly. "My memory has been lost. Burned from my mind for the past 3 years and the only thing that was left was me. The ashes from my past."
My eyes never leave his as I finish. He nods his head before his eyes flick down to my neck. My hand instantly reaches up and brush the tear-shaped sapphire ring, hanging around my neck. I lower my gaze as he clears his throat.
"What about that ring?" He asks.
I wrap my fingers around the ring before shrugging.
"Always had it, I guess. If someone gave it to me, I can't remember who."
