A young and promising entrepreneur, follows the lead of a family friend and his childhood mentor, in the art of perfumery in mid-1800 Grasse, France. Reviewing the formulae of his beloved guide, he creates a unique portion of his own, that stands to set him apart from other producers. This he will learn, will be the reason his life and work are in danger and his unusual relationship with a runaway American dame.
