We don't choose to die, we're designed too. It was just never the creator's plan for the dead to rise again. Zombies were the characters in our nightmares, the actors in our films and the taboo we'd all secretly admired. Never did we imagine they'd become our reality. Now every day is a battle for survival, a fight against the dead that seems to be creeping ever closer. We don't choose to die. We're designed too. * This story follows a small group of teens in a race for survival against the infected, with death, disease and the unshakable feeling that they're being stalked- life just got a whole lot harder. "Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" - John Milton, 'Paradise Lost' When the virus came, it infected the whole world in less than a month. Sixteen year old Hazel Williams, and her dog, Azrael, a Siberian Husky, lived two years in the apocalypse and still counting. They endured canned goods and slept in abandoned houses. During the day, they fought zombies. Only the zombies in their world weren't the dead who came back to life. They were living people who acted like the dead. Living this way for two years, Hazel thought they were the only non-zombie left on earth. She was about to be proved wrong. Could Hazel survive through annoying jerks, airhead cheerleaders, and super yucky zombies? And could there really be a cure for the pandemic? Well, she's about to find out. And its not going to be pretty. [There is another story included inside BSTZ, and that's OZTS, or Once Zombie Twice Shy. Its more darker and gory than BSTZ.] #SHTF All Rights Reserved. ©TWDposter

The zombie apocalypse started in April. Hannah couldn't fathom how she was able to remember something so irrelevant, although when she has over a year of isolation from any other living human being it's startling as to how much detail and information one person can manage to reminisce. She was 15 years old when it began. Now, she was turning 17 and nothing had gotten better. If anything, everything had become harder. Human extinction was inevitable and the probability of surviving wasn't just slightly possible, it was impossible. Especially when she's alone. Disclaimer- Any similarities to other stories or films is purely accidental and not done intentionally. Obviously, I adopted the idea of zombies and do not claim to have created them.

In one day, the world succumbed to a pestilence that decimated the living. In its place rose a new species: vicious, gruesome, wandering zombies with an insatiable hunger for the living. Still in her twenties, Cash has watched her friends die, only to walk again. An office worker with few survival skills, she joins up with Clutch, a grizzled Army veteran with PTSD. Together, they flee the city and struggle through the nine circles of hell, with nothing but Clutch's military experience and Cash's determination to live. As they fight to survive in the zombie inferno, they quickly discover that nowhere is safe from the undead...or the living. (100 Days in Deadland is a journey through the first poem in Dante Alighieri's Divine Comedy, the classic tale on the horrors of hell... zombie apocalypse style!) (Note: This is a draft so please excuse any errors. The finished novel is available in paperback, ebook, and audiobook).

My eyes were literally glowing, there was no mistaking it. It was not a reflection of light, or any of the other excuses I had used or others had assumed. They were glowing a light sapphire blue color. It was not a bright glow, but it was definitely a glow. Glowing eyes were not normal. Okay, at this point I had to admit it, I was no longer normal.
