The Northtown hornets have worked hard on their robot for the robotics season. They put long days and hours into it for months. They made it to the FIRST Robotics World Championship. Teams from all over the world came and only 3 teams can win as one alliance.

Comprised of 9 team members from Chicago, Illinois, the BEA5T is a part of the PREP program from Chicago State University, under NSBE Jr. Chapter 1, which specializes in introducing STEM to those of racial and gender minority. A female team member gives her account of being a part of the team with her thoughts, her fears, and what it is like to be marginalized for being of racial minority.
