Lance can't decide whether he wants to live to his dad's expectations by joining the Air Force or live his own dream by joining the basketball league. His decision is put to a test when the NAIA and the Air Force offer full scholarships. Keith can't seem to fit in wherever he goes, and has to live in a constant fear of losing the few people he already has. When he finds that there are people willing to enter his life, he has a difficulty at expanding his personal barrier. This is especially difficult when his mother shows up for the first time in his life. On the last night of summer vacation before senior year, the two boys cross paths and accidentally become each other's movie dates after initially third-wheeling their friends. Starting out as friendly rivals, what the two boys don't realise is their lives are about to take a wild turn for the rest of the year. But maybe they're also witnessing some kind of cinematic experience.

Keith has always suffered from bad panic attacks. He never gets noticed, which he is thankful for. He never liked being in the spot light, made him have another panic attack- or close to having one. Along with his panic attacks, he has horrible nightmares and wakes up, of course having a panic attack. The only one who seems to be able to tame these attacks on his mind is a certain tan skinned boy. Keith Kogane is a college student who can transform into a purple creature at will- which includes fluffy ears and large, feathered wings. He struggles to keep it a secret, as purple feathers are hard to hide in the snow. Then Lance comes. It's not like Keith doesn't like him- quite the opposite of that actually- it's just that it seems like Lance doesn't like Keith. But, over time they grow closer, and Keith's secret also becomes harder to hide. Lance is a popular football player. Practically the schools golden boy. His friends Hunk and Pidge add to it. They all get A's. Hunk is sweet and everybody loves him. Pidge is brilliant and people are afraid of her. Then Lance is the flirt. Attractive and all the girls love him. Then we have Shiro. Keith's older brother who used to go to Altea High. He used to play football and wants Keith to at least go to a few games so he can go too. He's engaged to Allura. A woman who helps out around the school. Keith is a loner. He's also a badass. He's not afraid to talk back to teachers and he has punched one of them. He repeatedly says it wasn't an accident but Shiro tells everyone it was. Shiro is repeatedly saving Keith from being kicked out of school and Allura usually has to help Keith with his wounds from fights inside and outside of school. People are usually scared of him and decide not to mess with him. That is until one stupidly handsome and annoyingly perfect golden boy comes into play.
