Clara Forsyth knew what a hard life was like, going from one place to another with nowhere to call home. She preferred that sort of life rather than one in high society where parents expected a woman to marry young and act as docile as a puppy. It was destiny that placed her on the RMS Titanic that day, the same destiny she always seemed to dodge.
As for Nathaniel West, life was always easy, his family being prominent figures in the New York Society. More than one woman who crossed his path called him a perfect catch. However, Nate wasn't happy sitting around laughing at subordinate ranks. He wanted to explore, to see what it meant to fend for himself.
These two lives and many more would find themselves changed on that ill-fated night, April 14th, 1912.
